Amsterdam, Netherlands — May 2026 — Aromate successfully concluded its participation at PLMA’s World of Private Label 2026, where global retailers, distributors, and manufacturers gathered to explore the future of private label products.
This year’s exhibition reflected a clear shift in the market:
private label is no longer driven by price alone. Increasingly, retailers are looking for products that combine value, quality, innovation, and stronger consumer experience.
According to PLMA and NielsenIQ market data presented during the event, private label sales across 17 European markets reached more than EUR 387 billion in 2025, continuing to outperform manufacturer brands in both value and volume growth.
From Price Competition to Product Experience
Throughout the exhibition, Aromate’s discussions with partners reflected a common challenge faced by many brands today:
How can products remain competitive while still creating stronger differentiation on the shelf?
One of the highlights at Aromate’s booth was the company’s Fine Perfume Collection, developed around the concept of “affordable luxury.”
Inspired by fine fragrances, the collection brings a more elevated scent experience into everyday air care products — allowing brands to enhance product perception without moving into inaccessible price ranges.
The strong interest in these collections reflected a broader trend seen across PLMA 2026:
Consumers are increasingly expecting private label products to offer not only affordability, but also experience, design, and emotional value.
Supporting Different Market Strategies
At the same time, the exhibition also reinforced that flexibility remains essential in today’s retail environment.
While some markets continue to prioritize cost efficiency and high-volume formats, others are moving toward more premium positioning and design-focused products.
To support these different needs, Aromate showcased a wide range of solutions, including:
- Cost-effective air care formats for mass retail
- Mid-range products balancing value and design
- Premium fragrance collections designed to elevate brand image
This approach allows partners to adapt more effectively to different retail channels, pricing strategies, and consumer expectations.
A Changing Role for Private Label
One of the key takeaways from PLMA 2026 was that private label products are increasingly becoming part of retailers’ long-term brand strategy — not simply lower-cost alternatives.
Across the exhibition, there was growing emphasis on:
- product differentiation
- packaging innovation
- sustainability
- regional supply chain stability
- premium yet accessible product concepts
For manufacturers, this means the role is also changing — from supplier to development partner.
With 30 years of experience in air care manufacturing, Aromate continues to support global partners through OEM/ODM development, fragrance expertise, and scalable manufacturing solutions designed for evolving market needs.

Looking Ahead
Aromate would like to thank all partners and visitors who stopped by our booth during PLMA 2026.
We look forward to continuing the conversations and exploring new opportunities together.
